Good, reliable, American made motorcycles?

Know of any? What do any of you know about the reliability or lack thereof of Victory? I've heard some bad things lately about Harleys breaking down alot. Any details and info would be good.|||The reality is there's only one. HD. period .Yes, HD had some problems back in the 70's when they went in with American Machine %26amp; Foundry. Those days are way behind all of us thank God, but the stigma still remains... I keep hearing about people that "keep hearing " about Harleys lack of reliability. Its bunk. In the American market you don't make an unreliable machine for over 100 years. How many 1953 Honda's do you see? I have a 2006 Heritage that I ride the piss out of every day and it keeps coming back for more. The harder I ride it, the harder it wants to be ridden. Try that on a Victory.

Victory puts itself out there as the new American motorcycle. Its not. -Made by Polaris: a second rate snowmobile maker. Bigger and faster than Harley's,... but they do not and will not stand up to punishment day in and day out like a Harley.

Indian, while putting out a noble effort and wanting so bad to ride Harley's coattails is technically American, just cannot seem to engineer reliability into the machine.|||Harley's have had excellent reliability ratings for the last 15 years, every since the EVO II came out. Victory and Indian both use S%26amp;S motors which are based on Harley engines, just 101 cubic inches. I ride a Kawasaki Vulcan 2000cc, which looks like a Harley, only bigger. I ride with a lot of Harley and Victory riders, none of us have broke down on the side of the road in 4 years of riding together.|||You seen the TV commercial of the old guy talking to the camera as he sits in his sidecar selling some 3G network card? He's waiting for his driver a big hairy goggled biker, who gets in and off they ride.

That's a russian made bike called a URAL a very cool 1946 war trophy prize taken back from Germany to the Motherland.

I'm just saying if it's a cool thing you're after, then break outta the herd mentality and look around. But if you insist, either the Victory or the 2010 HD's with their new welded frames and hi-tech add-ons should make your day.|||Buy a Harley - not a hard question.Buy the best and f@#k the rest! People that say unfounded lies about Harleys are just jealous they can't afford one or lack the motivation to follow their dreams.|||People have been saying bad things about Harleys leaking and breaking down for 30 years or more.

And they've been lying for most of those.|||Since Honda closed their Ohio plants there are no good, reliable American made motorcycles.|||Harley-Davidson and Victory. I've heard to steer clear of Indian and Ridley.|||the new ones 09's dont leak oil and ive never had a prob with mine yet and ive put 2,000 miles on it this summer
