Motorcycle hesitating and loss of power and back firing after reving up a couple of time in a row?

i have 2002 victory tour cruiser deluxe it is hesitiating with the throttle at constant power at all speeds .sometimes sputters and occasionally will back fire after reving up a few times or getting off fuel fast..also loss of power, seems like running about 70% of power,..any help would be appreciated..recently changed plugs but was doing before they were changed...|||Back fire by definition is unburned fuel detonating in the exhaust system after it leaves the combustion chamber. You might be running to rich, have a bad plug (spark) not giving enough juice when needed, there could be a problem with any 'pollution control' junk on your bike, and you could have valves that need to be adjusted anew to proper lash settings. Coil could be going bad.

These are the most likely areas, but certainly not the only ones... happy hunting and good luck! A good general tune up will correct almost any of the problems listed here!|||check plugs again ..also check if one cylinder is mis firing ..run the bike ..rev til is stumbles ..pull a plug wire ...stumble worse ??? put it back on and pull another ..if stumble does not get worse on one cylinder...you now know which one is not firing correctly ..,,could still be a plug ..or an individual carb ..or coil or plug wire ..|||Did you change mufflers earlier or install a free flowing K%26amp;N filter? Sounds like to me the carn is running too lean and either or both of the above modifications could have caused it. Surging under constant throttle and backfiring on decelleration are symptoms of too lean. If you haven't made any modifications, I'd clean the carb. I've has a tiny bit of rubber from the fuel hose screw things up.

And a busted piston or broken ring? I seriously doubt it. If so, send me your hat and I'll eat it.|||First change plugs and take the carb off an dclean it. you need to take every pice that will come off and clesan it in degrese then dry. I bet u beat the **** out of you bike so i think u have a broken pistion ring. You can do a compreshion test for this. You might want to bring it to a macanic.
