As Scooter_7_10 mentioned motorcycles usually have a rotor and stator setup. The only bike I've seen with an alternator was on the old air cooled BMW twins. As far as the V92 the stator is attached to the inside of the left engine cover (the primary cover). You will need to undo the clutch cable from the clutch lever and remove the clutch lever from the primary cover before you can remove the primary cover. You will need to drain the oil before doing this and it might also be a good idea to pick up a couple of cheap aluminum baking pans to catch the oil that will spill out when the cover is removed. The fun part when removing the primary cover is that the magnets from the rotor will want to pull the cover back on to the engine. So watch your finger tips as you remove the cover or as you put it back on.
I do have a couple questions for you. Are you having problems with your charging system? If so have you tried doing an ohm test on the stator? Don't forget to do a coil to ground ohm check too.|||Motorcycles commonly have a rotor and stator setup instead of an alternator. To get to the stator, you need to pull the primary cover off the side of the case. This is where it lies on pretty much every bike.|||No, it has a 300 mile long extension cord to charge the battery.
