I know some you can only have a Harley but others just say "an American motorcycle"...what do they think of Victory?|||Sonny Barger rides a Victory touring model. Lotta clubs say american iron, so im sure if you had a Victory or an Indian you are good to go, but each club is different.|||To the OP. It depends on the club. And honestly, it also depends on the prospect. Just because you own a Harley doesn't mean a club has to accept you.
As to weather Victory is an american company. Victory is a division of Polaris, not Bombardier. Polaris is an American company traded on the New York Stock Exchange and headquartered in Medina, Minnesota. Victory's are assembled in Spirit Lake, Iowa. Victory is an American company|||It not that most Harley riders can't accept the Victory brand. The sticking point is that the company claims
are very misleading.
Answer me this question.
If Toyota, that is manufactured in the USA, claimed to be an American car manufacturer? No they are still considered a Foreign auto maker. So is Subaru, Kawasaki etc..
Yet Victory , who is owned and managed by Canada's Bombardier makes a claims of ....The New American Motorcycle. which its just lying to the american consumer in order to somehow convince them that they are some what better than Harley's product.
In the end purchase the Victory or Harley that is most got your heart rate going. You are the one who is going to spend your time off riding all over this great land of ours.
Enjoy the riding lifestyle. Life is to short to live your life by
someone Else's poll numbers or agenda. Good Luck, Ride Safe.|||I asked a local 1%er I know the same question. I never see a victory. I do see lots of custom builds and harley. He says and I tend to agree.
#1 The design is really kind of ugly. You don't have much as far as aftermarket. so why buy a fancy bike that looks like every other bike.
#2 Motorcycle clubs are not a place where rules are something you try and get around. They often exist to prolong the life of the club and its image. Image and tradition has alot to do with integrity within the club structure. Many even tho it says american bike know that harley or homemade custom is implied.
A clubbers motorcycle says alot about himself, his club, and what outsider will interpret. To put a victory in that picture tends to cheapen that picture. I obviously don't care for victory and will get heat for it. it ok unlike some here i got broad shoulders. It in my eyes looks like some Honda's. Overpolished and overengineered turds that have tried to hard.|||I know patch holders that have cb750 chops, triumphs, indians, even old bsa's.... but they all have a big twin harley or big twin based custom as their primary bike... them's the rules, sportsters dont even cut it
victory wouldn't be sneered at either, but it's a cookie cuttered bike, it can't be made into a custom like a harley can so they just don't. i do know a guy with an indian as his primary bike, but its a piece of sh*t, so he's always getting flack for missing rides when it won't run right, he's been told to deal with it|||A little off subject. But if there is any question then that means image (as it relates to a name brand) is very important to these clubs, but isn't buying a certain brand of bike for the image the excuse the "hard core" guys use for calling someone else a poser? Just thinking out loud...|||1% doesn't refer to the model of motorcycle accepted in the club. Some accept non-Amerrican-made bikes. Some AMA clubs are exclusive.|||the short answer is NO and they DO NOT CARE FOR THEM.the other poster had a great point-as a prospect you will catch hell, stay below the radar-do as you are told-and support your club in ALL endevors-good luck!|||Last I heard to join a 1% club the bike had to be American made and1000cc or bigger. At least with the Hells Angels.|||you should ask a patch holder, as for the person who sais who cares he would get his *** beat.|||Who cares?
WHO CARES what a bunch of drug dealing, wife beating, damn near gay 1 percent think?|||lol i seen and add with sonny borger rideing one not sure how true but it was him on a vickory
