Lots of variety in big cruiser bikes these days. What do you like and why?|||Sounds to me like you don't understand the definition of "cruiser" style motorcycles.
A Cruiser is an American style motorcycle, typically with a V-twin engine and styled something like a Harley-Davidson. They tend to have a very low seat height, and a relaxed but upright seating position, with the rider's foot pegs or floorboards located forward of the seat. Of the three motorcycle brands you have named, only the Victory would be considered to be a cruiser style motorcycle.
The Honda Gold Wing is strictly a touring bike, with big fairings and saddlebags/trunk to carry the rider's and passenger's clothing and gear. These motorcycles are equipped for rider comfort and long-distance riding.
BMW makes several different styles of motorcycle, but most of them are in the sport, dual-sport or sport-touring category. The only BMW that could even be considered as a cruiser is the R1200C, which is no longer being produced.
Added info: Just for moh67381. BMW is a motorcycle builder who just happened to get into the automobile business... not the other way around.|||My favourite cruiser is one that was never made: a 5spd low compression R75/ with long swingarm and low level pipe, RT fairing and panniers, gear cam drive, magneto, and perhaps an Earls fork front end, but.....|||Suzuki Boulevard 90. A very comfortable ride.|||I would agree with Jet Doc. BMW would not be cattegorised as a cruiser. People very often get confused between cruiser and tourer. My fave would probably be an Indian custom. If I was in the position to spend a lot of money on a bike that's what I'd go for. It's the make that was there before Harley Davidson and was more popular. However Harley became more widely known because they were awarded the contract to supply bikes to the army during the second world war. Had Indian won the contract, I don't think Harley would be as much an Icon as it is today.
However I still like them. My fave is probably the Fatboy. I also like the Honda shadow.|||Honda VTX1800
its the fastest, quickest, smoothest, best balanced cruiser bike there is|||The bikes you mentioned are Touring Bikes ,Victory has come out with a really nice looking bike but if I was to buy a touring bike that has everything I want it would be the Yamaha Vstar with all the bells and whistles , Gold wing sets up to high for me the BMW I care not for such a big over sized engine sticking out and Victory needs to be around a little longer , But if your talking Cruiser in general then the VTX wins hands down ,it s the Bad est Fastest ride on the market for cruiser Bikes|||Triumph. The Speedmaster is the most coolest vertical twin of the bunch, and who can argue with the biggest, baddest, and fastest production cruiser on the planet -the Triumph Rocket III???|||yamaha v star i have a 2005,im the original owner ,it has 25,000 miles on it and has never been in the shop 4 repair. i live in mn. its been to both coasts.there and back. no problems.|||Virago|||My current bike, a 2006 Kawasaki Mean Streak 1600, is an awesome cruiser. It has a nice beafy engine with incredible pull. The handling is very tight - much more so than a typical cruiser, and the styling is (for me anyway) super yummy! My only other cruiser experience was on a used 2000 Honda Shadow Spirit 1100. It was a nice, solid bike, but nothing compared to my Mean Streak.|||I'd have to say first, I am not a cruiser fan. I do not prefer the seating possition. I like the standard - like the Bandit for example. Straight up and down seating instead of sitting back.
But if I have to pick my favorite it will either be the Kawasaki Mean Streak 1600, or the Suzuki M109. Possibly the Harley V-Rod series. I like the sporty cruisers the most. For touring I like sport-touring more than cruisers.|||I have no use for a cruiser. I would want something sportier. Something tourier. Or something off-rowdier.
I really don't get the attraction. Bikes for people who really aren't into riding?|||I want a 1996 Honda Pacific Coast PC800. Okay, that's not a cruiser, it's a... er... um... little touring motorcycle.|||Oh Triumph Rocket 111
2.3 litres of three cylinder ENGLISH iron with one heck of a life line and built quality better than most and when you see it coming YOU SEE IT COMING!!!!
Oh and a REAL pillion seat and pegs to boot!!!!|||A Goldwing and a BMW are not even close to be a cruiser motorcycle. There are various types of motorcycles: cruisers, crotch rockets, touring, sport, standard, dirt and combinations of the above. The best cruiser bikes are Harleys. They have great style, fabulous exhaust sound, comfort and reliability. I currently ride a FXD Super Glide. I've ridden many bikes over the years, but my Super Glide has been my favorite.|||Amen! I'll throw my Triumph Bonneville T100 on the Limey pile too! God save the Queen!|||As far as "premium" cruisers go. The BMW boxer twin gets my vote along with the victory vision. However the boxer is a proven, powerful, and reliable design that's been being further developed and refined by BMW for almost a century non-stop. The vision is the new kid on the block and has a lot to live up to regarding it's rivals and it price tag. The BMW is also about 200-300 pounds lighter depending on the model not to mention much smoother in operation than most other designs.|||how can you attempt to compair a goldwing to anything else. it is far superior in every touring aspect.|||Honda VTX 1800... Retro is the model i have, but theres a style made for everyone. C custom sporty model, Retro with the loooong fenders...S Retro with Spoked wheels...F modern looking sport racer...N with the taildragger fender .... T touring model with bags and windshield. check it out
www.vtx.honda.com|||Yamaha. They re just the stylish and have better handling.
Yamaha is a well know motorcycle maker for years. They know it all.
BMW is mostly a sports car maker not for motorcycles unless your just looking for the BMW brand.|||BMW's are a lot more money for the same performance. You would be buying a name, but one that isn't really worth anything like HD is.
