should I just stick with the Japanese bikes? thanks in advance.|||There are no modern bikes (bikes made after the 1980s) that lend themselves to home mechanics. Find a nice used bike that has been well kept, do the regular maintenance yourself (oil changes) and hope that it does not break.|||If you are going to risk a large amount of cash on a secondhand bike, then pay a mechanic to come with you and have a look at it 鈥?yes it will cost but it could save you a lot more. This applies to any make of bikes no matter what the reputation a neglectful owner can reduce a bike to scrap.
Or buy a knackered old bike and become mechanically inclined.|||Victory makes a fine motorcycle, i would own one long before i bought a harley davidson, victory was created to put the power back into the v-twin, they took a harley and improved every part of it.
harley is famous for making the most noise and producing the least amount of horsepower.. harley riders will pour over your bike and wish they had one.|||I bought a 2000 victory v92c and love it, bought in 05 and lots of parts ie,throttle control sensors, map sensors, just about any sensors can be bought at autozone. I have a performance chip in the computer, fuel controller, performance air filter, stage 1 pipes and eat Harleys up, plus its even better when you pull over to help yhe broke harley's on side of the road.|||Well it's certainly better than a Harley but the larger Victorys are real porkers so I personally wouldn't dream of riding a bike that heavy. I think reliability is pretty good from what I've heard. I find smaller lighter bikes to be more fun myself.|||You don't have to be mechanically inclined with a Vic, it's not a Harley, you know.|||Go for a Harley Davidson and you won't regret it.
